A fast trade copier can respond promptly while still waiting for a condition you have chosen. A receiver may be configured to enter after a delay, wait for a particular price, accept only a limited spread or stop trying when a copying opportunity becomes too old.
Understanding these settings helps you configure Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© for your intended trading method and explain why two receiver accounts may respond differently to the same transmitter trade.
This guide focuses on when a receiver becomes eligible to copy a trade, using practical examples for MT4 and MT5.
Three separate questions help explain the process:
Is the trade eligible? Receiver filters, trading hours, account protection and other rules determine whether copying is allowed.
Are the entry conditions satisfied? A configured delay, price condition or spread limit can affect when the receiver may proceed.
Can the broker execute the request? The receiver broker processes the resulting trading request independently.
An excluded trade, a trade waiting for a price condition and a broker-rejected request need different investigations. Treating all three as “slow copying” makes diagnosis harder.
For the separate roles of the software and broker, read trade copier speed vs broker execution speed.
Receiver inputs control intentional entry timing and price conditions. Example settings are illustrative; choose values for your own configuration.
In a normal Transmitter-to-Receiver setup, run the MetaTrader terminals on the same Windows computer or regular Windows VPS. Configure the copying rules discussed below in the Receiver instance of Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5©.
Each receiver can have its own configuration. One receiver might copy eligible new market trades without an intentional delay, while another follows a timed or price-based entry rule.
Record the settings on each receiver before comparing results. Matching transmitter trades do not imply matching receiver instructions.
Use the installation guide for terminal setup and the Settings & Inputs Guide for the complete input descriptions.
Copying Delay in Seconds adds a configured delay before copying. The documented input accepts a single number, such as 5, or a range, such as 5,20, for a random delay between 5 and 20 seconds.
For example, a receiver configured with a five-second delay is being instructed to wait. Its later entry does not, by itself, reveal how quickly the underlying local communication operates.
For a baseline demo test without an intentional entry delay, use Copying Delay in Seconds = 0. Then test a fixed delay separately, keeping the other relevant settings unchanged.
A random range is useful only when that variation is part of your intended configuration. A fixed value is easier to interpret during a controlled comparison.
Better Price enables a price condition defined by Better Price Difference in Points.
For ordinary copying in the same direction, the documented conditions are:
Difference setting
Buy condition
Sell Condition
0
Same or lower price
Same or higher price
50
50 points lower
50 points higher
-50
50 points higher
50 points lower
The negative-value option waits for a move in the transmitter trade's profitable direction before entry. It should not be interpreted as requesting a more favorable entry price.
Illustrative example: A transmitter buys EURUSD at 1.10000. Assume the relevant EURUSD point size is 0.00001. A 50-point lower-price condition corresponds to 1.09950; a 50-point higher-price condition corresponds to 1.10050.
These numbers illustrate the configured condition, not a guaranteed receiver fill. Broker quotes and final execution can differ. Check the receiver instrument's specifications: points and pips are not interchangeable across all instruments.
With Better Price enabled, a trade may never be copied if the required condition is never reached. That is an important difference between immediate copying and conditional entry.
Maximum Spread in Points sets the receiver spread allowed for copying. Maximum Copying Difference in Points limits the permitted price difference between transmitter and receiver when copying.
These inputs answer different questions:
Is the receiver spread acceptable?
Is the transmitter-to-receiver price difference acceptable?
For example, if the receiver spread is 25 points while its configured maximum is 20 points, the spread condition is not satisfied. This alone is not evidence of a communication delay.
Choose values that fit the actual instrument, broker and strategy. A suitable EURUSD limit may be unsuitable for gold or an index. The Settings guide explains symbol-specific spread values where supported.
Maximum Slippage in Points is a separate execution-related input. Keep it distinct from the spread and copying-price limits; do not assume it makes every broker execution price identical.
During diagnosis, use the logs and documented behavior to establish whether an attempt was blocked, failed, retried or expired. Do not assume every unmet condition will automatically produce a later trade.
Use Copying Expiration in Seconds enables Copying Expiration in Seconds, which limits how long the receiver may continue trying to copy a transmitter trade.
For example, a 60-second expiration prevents an unfilled copying opportunity from remaining eligible indefinitely. If copying cannot occur within that period, the documented behavior is that the trade is no longer copied.
Expiration is not an instruction to wait 60 seconds. It is a limit on the copying opportunity.
Review expiration alongside any deliberate delay or price requirement. A long delay and a short expiration can leave little useful time for entry. Test the combination rather than assuming one setting overrides another.
Retry Attempts in Seconds defines the interval between receiver attempts after a failed copying attempt. The published Settings guide gives examples such as a closed market or insufficient funds and documents a default interval of 60 seconds.
A retry interval differs from an intentional entry delay:
Setting
Purpose
Copying Delay in Seconds
Deliberately postpone copying
Retry Attempts in Seconds
Space attempts after a failure
Copying Expiration in Seconds
Limit how long copying may remain eligible
A shorter retry interval does not resolve insufficient funds, incorrect symbols or a closed market. Read the original failure message and investigate its cause before changing the interval.
When broker server times differ, Transmitter Server Offset Hours is relevant to the documented current/new trade controls, entry delay and copying expiration. Use the brokers' Market Watch server times rather than your computer clock.
The published examples specify:
Transmitter 11:30, receiver 14:30: enter -3 on the receiver.
Transmitter 14:30, receiver 11:30: enter +3 on the receiver.
Recheck the difference if broker server-time arrangements change. An incorrect offset can make a time-based configuration behave differently from what you intended.
Before adjusting a delay, check whether the receiver is meant to copy the trade at all:
Copy New Trades controls new transmitter trades.
Copy Current Trades controls trades or orders already open when the setup begins.
Copy Market Trades and Copy Pending Orders determine the relevant copying behavior.
Symbol, magic-number, comment and direction filters select eligible trades.
Copying hours and account-protection controls can restrict activity.
With direct pending-order copying disabled, the pending order is not copied while waiting on the transmitter. Its resulting market trade can be copied after it triggers, provided market copying and the other conditions allow it.
A receiver waiting for that trigger is following a different workflow from a receiver configured to place the pending order directly.
Entry conditions do not fully describe exit behavior. Review Synchronized Trade Closure, Closure Delay in Seconds and Closure Better Price separately.
For example, a receiver can enter without an intentional delay but have a deliberate closure delay. Likewise, a closure price condition may leave a receiver position open if the required price never arrives.
For a simple demo closure test, use Synchronized Trade Closure = True, Closure Delay in Seconds = 0 and Closure Better Price = false. Confirm the resulting behavior before testing alternative exit rules.
Changing these inputs can change how positions are managed. Experiment on disposable demo accounts and retain the protection settings appropriate to your intended setup.
Use the downloadable free demo, which operates on demo accounts for four hours at a time.
Start with one transmitter and one receiver on the same Windows computer or VPS.
Confirm communication, trading permissions, symbol mapping and an appropriate small demo lot size.
For fresh test trades, use Copy Current Trades = false, Copy New Trades = true and Copy Market Trades = true.
Establish a baseline with entry delay 0 and Better Price false. Record the remaining price limits, expiration, retry and protection settings. Confirm that they permit the test trade.
Open a fresh transmitter demo trade, observe the receiver and inspect its Experts and Journal logs.
Close the test positions and confirm both accounts are flat. Change only the entry delay to a fixed value such as 5, then repeat with a fresh trade.
Restore the delay to 0 before testing Better Price or another condition separately.
Record what actually happened; do not label these examples as measured product benchmarks. Coarse timestamps, different broker clocks and a screen recording of completed trades cannot by themselves isolate subsecond copier synchronization from broker execution.
For broader testing of openings, modifications and closures, follow how to test trade copier speed between MT4 & MT5 accounts. If the terminals themselves are unresponsive, use how to make MT4 & MT5 trade copying faster.
Fast trade copying and deliberate entry controls can work together. The useful question is whether each receiver responds according to its own configuration.
Check eligibility first, then intentional waiting conditions, then failed requests and broker execution. This sequence helps you make targeted changes while preserving the lot sizing, filters and protections you actually need.
For MT4-to-MT4 copying, use Local Trade Copier EA MT4©; for MT5-to-MT5 copying, use Local Trade Copier EA MT5©. Cross-platform MT4 ↔ MT5 copying requires both corresponding versions. See pricing and version options, or contact support with the relevant settings and log messages if the behavior remains unexplained.
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© is designed for fast local synchronization between MetaTrader terminals while giving each receiver account independent control over lot sizing, symbol mapping, trade filters and risk-management settings. Under suitable conditions, trades can typically be synchronized between local terminals in under 0.5 seconds.
Whether you need MT4-to-MT4, MT5-to-MT5 or cross-platform MT4 ↔ MT5 copying, you can test the software on demo accounts before deciding which version or configuration suits your setup.
