Want to test MT4 ↔ MT5 copying? Install both the MT4 and MT5 demo versions and configure the appropriate transmitter and receiver terminals.
The free demo lets you test the actual copying process and available settings on MetaTrader demo accounts.
You can test:
Market Trade Copying
Open buy and sell trades on the transmitter and observe how they are copied to the receiver.
Pending Order Copying
Test pending orders directly or configure them to be copied as market trades when they trigger on the transmitter.
Stop Loss & Take Profit Synchronization
Modify SL and TP levels on the transmitter and observe the corresponding receiver behaviour.
Trade Modifications & Closures
Test modifications, partial closures and complete trade closures.
Lot Sizing & Risk Methods
Experiment with the available lot-sizing and risk-management methods for receiver accounts.
Trade Filters
Test symbol, magic number, comment, direction and other available copying filters.
Symbol Mapping
Test copying between brokers that use different symbol names, prefixes or suffixes.
Multiple Receiver Accounts
Test how trades are synchronized to multiple receiver terminals.
MT4 & MT5 Configurations
Test MT4-to-MT4, MT5-to-MT5 and, with both demo versions installed, MT4 ↔ MT5 copying.
The purpose of the demo is not only to confirm that trades are copied. It also allows you to configure the copier according to your intended setup and evaluate how it behaves before purchasing.
Installation takes only a few minutes.
Download the MT4 demo, MT5 demo, or both if you want to test cross-platform copying.
In your MT4 or MT5 terminal, select:
File → Open Data Folder
Navigate to:
MQL4 → Experts
for MT4, or:
MQL5 → Experts
for MT5.
Place the downloaded Local Trade Copier EA demo file inside the appropriate Experts folder.
Close and restart the MetaTrader terminal so that the EA appears in the Navigator.
You can then attach Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© Demo to the appropriate charts.

Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5 Installation Guide →
Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© uses a transmitter-and-receiver structure.
The transmitter account is the account whose trading activity you want to copy.
The receiver account is the account that receives and processes the copied trading instructions.
The basic configuration is:
MT4/MT5 Transmitter → Local Trade Copier EA → MT4/MT5 Receiver
Open the MetaTrader terminal containing the account whose trades you want to copy.
Attach the appropriate Local Trade Copier EA demo on any one chart and configure it as the transmitter.
Open the MetaTrader terminal containing the demo account that should receive the trades.
Attach the appropriate Local Trade Copier EA demo on any one chart and configure it as the receiver.
Choose the receiver settings you want to test, such as:
lot sizing
trade filters
symbol mapping
pending-order behaviour
TP/SL copying
direction controls
other receiver-specific copying and risk-management settings
Make sure the receiver detects the intended transmitter before beginning your test.
For a first test, we recommend starting with one transmitter and one receiver. Once everything is working correctly, you can add additional receiver terminals if that reflects your intended setup.
This is the section I would make especially prominent on this website, my dear friend.
Once the transmitter and receiver are communicating correctly, you can perform a simple practical test of trade-copying speed.
Run both MetaTrader terminals on the same Windows computer or Windows VPS.
This gives you a simple baseline before adding additional receivers.
Open a small test trade manually on the transmitter demo account.
Observe when the trade appears on the transmitter and how quickly the corresponding copying instruction is processed by the receiver.
Under suitable system and trading conditions, Local Trade Copier EA MT4/5© can typically synchronize trading activity between local MetaTrader terminals in under 0.5 seconds.
Change the transmitter trade's Stop Loss or Take Profit.
Observe how promptly and correctly the receiver processes the corresponding modification.
Close the transmitter trade and observe the receiver response.
If your trading method uses partial closures, test those as well.
Place, modify and cancel a pending order on the transmitter.
If you intend to use the option that copies a pending order as a market trade when it triggers on the transmitter, test that configuration too.
If your intended setup uses multiple receiver accounts, repeat the test with the number of receiver terminals you expect to use.
This provides a more realistic test than evaluating only a single receiver.
Do not judge copying performance from a single trade.
Repeat market openings, modifications and closures several times to evaluate both speed and consistency.
Important: Trade copier synchronization speed and broker execution speed are separate. After a copying instruction is processed by the receiver, final trade execution is handled by the receiver's broker. Broker response time, liquidity, spread and market conditions can therefore affect the final execution time and price.
A fast copying process does not guarantee identical entry or exit prices between transmitter and receiver accounts, particularly when different brokers are used.

The free demo is fully functional for 4 hours at a time on demo accounts only.
After the 4-hour testing period has expired, you can reset the demo and begin another testing session.
In MetaTrader:
1. Go to Tools → Global Variables.
2. Press Ctrl+A to select the Global Variables.
3. Press Delete.
4. Restart or reattach the demo as required and begin a new testing session.
Important: Deleting Global Variables can also remove variables used by other Expert Advisors or tools. Perform this reset only in a non-critical demo testing environment where deleting these variables will not affect anything important.
Do not perform this reset on a prop-firm challenge/evaluation account or any important trading environment.
You can also use the demos to test copying between MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5.
Supported configurations include:
MT4 → MT5
and:
MT5 → MT4
To test cross-platform copying, install both Local Trade Copier EA MT4© Demo and Local Trade Copier EA MT5© Demo.
Configure the appropriate platform as the transmitter and the other as the receiver.
For example:
MT4 Transmitter → Local Trade Copier → MT5 Receiver
or:
MT5 Transmitter → Local Trade Copier → MT4 Receiver
This allows you to test cross-platform communication, symbol mapping, receiver lot sizing and other relevant settings before purchasing.
Full-version note: MT4 ↔ MT5 copying requires both corresponding Local Trade Copier EA MT4© and Local Trade Copier EA MT5© versions.
